Sr. Director Global Partner Programs

Remote

Description

This is Moderne's first dedicated Partner Programs hire. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role reporting directly to the Chief Partnerships Officer. You will be the architect and operator behind Moderne's inaugural partner programs, responsible for designing, building, and scaling the program infrastructure that turns hyperscaler, solution integrator, and platform partnerships into a repeatable, measurable engine for joint customer success and revenue.

This role has full creative latitude to build out the tiering, enablement, certification, marketplace mechanics, MDF, co-marketing infrastructure, and the partner experience that lets every partner, from a global hyperscaler to an emerging delivery SI, plug into Moderne and move with us.

Just as importantly, this role will help define how Moderne uses AI and agents to build and operate a next-generation partner ecosystem: identifying where intelligent automation can accelerate program design, partner onboarding, enablement, ecosystem insight, operational workflows, and the day-to-day scale of the partner function itself.

This is an IC-first role with a clear path to building and leading a team as the partner GTM function scales.

About Moderne

Moderne is an enterprise software company building AI-powered code intelligence and modernization technologies. Our agentic intelligence platform helps the world's largest organizations, particularly in Financial Services, Healthcare, and regulated industries, accelerate application modernization, migration, and developer productivity at scale. We're building a category-defining product in a massive market, backed by deep technical credibility, open-source leadership, and growing traction with hyperscaler and technology ecosystems.

Responsibilities

Partner program strategy, design & architecture

  • Design and launch Moderne's inaugural global partner program from a blank page: tiering, qualification criteria, benefits framework, partner journey, and program governance spanning hyperscalers, SI/GSI, and platform/ISV partners.
  • Build differentiated tracks that meet partners where they are on their journey: integrating with hyperscaler co-sell motions (Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program, AWS Partner Network, Google Cloud Partner Advantage), SI/GSI delivery and "Managed Modernization" capacity, and platform/ISV technology integrations.
  • Define and own the Moderne partner value proposition, benefits matrix, and economic model (margin, MDF, incentives, co-investment) that makes Moderne the most attractive AI-and-modernization partner to build a practice around.
  • Architect the partner lifecycle program and tooling at Moderne, from onboarding, to enablement, pipeline management and operational cadences, in lockstep with Sales and Finance.
  • Define where AI and agentic workflows can enhance the design, management, and scale of Moderne's partner programs, including program architecture, partner segmentation, ecosystem mapping, content generation, workflow automation, and operational intelligence.

Program operationalization & enablement

  • Build the enablement engine: partner portal, certification paths, technical accreditation, sales playbooks, demo environments, and "Moderne University"-style learning so partners can sell, deliver, and renew Moderne with confidence.
  • Package Moderne's platform and AI tooling into partner-ready offerings: starter solutions, repeatable plays, accelerators, and the foundations of a "Managed Modernization" delivery motion, in partnership with Solution Engineering and Product.
  • Establish program KPIs and a quarterly business cadence (program QBRs, scorecards, executive review) that ties every program element to partner-influenced ARR, marketplace transaction velocity, and certified delivery capacity.
  • Identify and operationalize AI and agent-powered approaches that make the partner program more scalable and intelligent, such as automated partner onboarding, personalized enablement journeys, partner-facing knowledge assistants, certification support, content recommendation, pipeline and engagement insights, and reduced manual program administration.

Cross-functional collaboration & internal enablement

  • Partner closely with the Senior Director, Channel & Partner GTM and the SVP of Enterprise Sales to ensure program design accelerates co-sell execution and that partner-sourced and partner-influenced pipeline flows cleanly through Moderne's revenue motion.
  • Work hand-in-glove with Marketing on partner co-marketing infrastructure: joint value propositions, demand-gen playbooks, MDF-funded campaigns, win celebrations, and the GTM moments that surface Moderne inside partner ecosystems.
  • Collaborate with Solution Engineering to build the technical enablement, reference architectures, and integration patterns that let partners stand up Moderne competence quickly and meet customers where they are on their modernization and AI journey.
  • Provide structured input to Sales Operations, Finance, and Legal on PRM and CRM requirements, deal registration workflows, partner contracting standards, and revenue recognition for marketplace and resale motions.
  • Establish the program feedback loop, translating partner and field signal back to Product, Marketing, and Sales leadership so Moderne's offerings, packaging, and enablement evolve with how partners actually go to market.
  • Work cross-functionally to evaluate, pilot, and embed AI and agent capabilities into the partner operating model, ensuring Moderne applies the same innovation mindset internally that it brings to customers and partners externally.

Organizational leadership & people management

  • Define the long-term vision, organizational structure, and hiring roadmap for the Partner Programs and Partner Management function, anticipating future scale and needs.
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a dedicated team of Partner Program managers and specialists, fostering a high-performance, customer-obsessed culture.
  • Establish clear goals, provide regular coaching, and manage performance to ensure the team executes against the program's strategic objectives.

Qualifications

Required

  • 10+ years in enterprise software with at least 5 years in partner programs, channel operations, alliances, or partner enablement with direct accountability for the design and operation of partner programs at scale.
  • Demonstrated track record of building partner programs from the ground up — tiering, benefits, certification, MDF, marketplace, and incentives — and operationalizing them into measurable partner-influenced revenue.
  • Deep, current knowledge of hyperscaler partner programs (Microsoft, AWS, GCP), including marketplace mechanics, co-sell designations, and the funding mechanisms (MACC, ECIF, MAP, MDF, co-investment) that drive partner economics.
  • Proven experience scaling SI/GSI delivery enablement and certification programs that translate into qualified, repeatable partner-led delivery capacity.
  • Strong cross-functional operator who has worked closely with Sales, Marketing, and Solution Engineering to ensure partner programs translate to seller behavior, customer pipeline, and field activation — not just paper benefits.
  • Proven experience recruiting, managing, and mentoring a dedicated team of program managers or specialists.
  • Experience working within or alongside high-growth startups and scale-ups where building from scratch, moving fast, and wearing multiple hats is the norm — with the judgment to know which 80% to ship first.

Preferred

  • Direct experience standing up partner programs in developer tooling, DevSecOps, AI/ML, application modernization, or cloud migration categories.
  • Familiarity with consumption-based and subscription-based revenue models, marketplace private-offer mechanics, and the operational nuance of driving both through partner channels.
  • Experience with PRM platforms (Impartner, Allbound, Crossbeam, PartnerStack, Salesforce PRM) and instrumenting partner motion in Salesforce.
  • Background designing and operating co-marketing programs and MDF frameworks that demonstrably move pipeline and partner-sourced ARR.
  • Domain familiarity with code intelligence, AI agent tooling, or platform engineering — enough to translate Moderne's technical differentiation into partner-ready value.
  • Experience leveraging MEDDPICC, Challenger, or similar enterprise sales frameworks in a partner and program context.

Why Moderne

  • Category-defining product. Our AI-powered code intelligence platform solves a massive, universal problem of legacy modernization that every enterprise faces and that hyperscalers are desperate to accelerate.
  • Greenfield mandate. You're designing Moderne's inaugural partner program from a blank page, with full executive sponsorship and a clear remit to make programs the structural advantage behind partner-led growth.
  • Strategic timing. Hyperscalers and SIs are racing to define how AI tooling reaches enterprise developers. The partner program you build determines how Moderne shows up in that motion.
  • Path to leadership. Start as a high-impact IC with direct CPO access and build toward leading a dedicated partner programs team as the function proves out globally.

Moderne is an equal opportunity employer.
