Customer Success Architect
Be the senior technical partner for enterprise customers, guiding engineering teams from first evaluation through large-scale rollout as they modernize complex applications and adopt AI-assisted development.
About the role
As a Customer Success Architect, you will be the senior technical partner for our enterprise customers, guiding them from first evaluation through large-scale rollout. You will own the technical relationship and strategy at some of the largest financial institutions, technology companies, and government agencies in the world, helping their engineering teams modernize complex Java, C#, and Python applications and adopt AI-assisted development with confidence. You will work across Sales, Product, and Engineering to make sure what we build matches what our customers actually need.
What you’ll do
- Product Expertise and Best Practices: Become a subject matter expert on Moderne and OpenRewrite, and on the agentic development tools and workflows our customers are adopting alongside them. Advise on best practices, advanced features, and modernization strategy so customers maximize their return.
- Training and Enablement: Run technical training sessions, hands-on workshops, and recurring office hours that turn early adopters into self-sufficient internal champions. Some of this is delivered onsite, including multi-day workshops at customer sites.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with key technical stakeholders and decision-makers, from individual engineers through engineering leadership. Own the health of your accounts: track adoption, surface risk early, and escalate blocking issues.
- Onboarding and Implementation: Guide customers through onboarding and product setup, ensuring a smooth and successful activation.
- AI-Forward Practice: Work the way our customers are learning to work. Use agentic tools on your own day-to-day, automate the repetitive parts of the job, build internal tooling, and share what works so the whole team moves faster.
- Technical Pre-sales and Evaluation: Lead product demos and technical discussions with prospects. Own the evaluation and proof-of-value phase end to end, delivering a strong hands-on experience and a clear ROI story.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Act as a voice of the customer inside Moderne. Partner with Sales, Product, and Engineering. Translate customer problems into clear and reproducible engineering issues, and help shape the roadmap. When a customer is blocked, you may sometimes contribute the fix yourself rather than wait on a handoff.
- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain technical documentation, FAQs, and playbooks to empower customers with self-service resources. Share insights and best practices with the broader team, and occasionally with the wider community through webinars, conference demos, and meetups.

- Working knowledge of agentic development workflows and AI coding assistants, and genuine curiosity about where that space is heading.

- Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to manage multiple enterprise engagements simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
